Payout Basics

About Payout Basics

An independent reference on how online reward and cashback programs pay their users.

Why this exists

Reward apps, survey panels and cashback platforms are advertised heavily and explained badly. The mechanics are not complicated, but they are rarely stated plainly: someone pays for attention or data, a platform takes a share, and the user receives the remainder. Understanding that one sentence answers most questions people have about whether a program is worth their time.

We publish short, checkable explanations of how these payouts work, what the realistic numbers are, and which warning signs matter. We do not rank platforms, we do not run a "best of" list, and we do not tell anyone which service to join.

How this site is funded

Payout Basics is a small independent project. It does not sell a product, does not operate a reward program, and does not process payments. Some pages may carry advertising or affiliate links; where that is the case it is disclosed on the page itself. Nothing on this site is paid placement by a reward platform.

Editorial limits

This is general consumer information, not financial, legal or tax advice. Earnings figures cited are ranges reported across the industry and are not a promise of what any individual will earn. Program terms change often — always read the current terms on the platform's own site before signing up.
